1. What are beta-glucanes and what is their role in prevention of oncological diseases?
Beta-glucane is agent /polysaccharide/ inherent in some medical fungi /e.c. Shitake, Maitake or Oyster cap fungus/ with strong antitumour and immunostimulant effects. It stimulates some cells of immune system, especially macrophages, which play an decisive role in start-up and and maintenance of immune response. Beta-glucane is able not only stimulate these cells but it concerns also about their number. All these processes are enough for us to concider beta-glucane as actual most important antitumour immunostimulant. Scientists who compared beta-glucane with other popular preparations for reinforcement of immunity /aloe vera, coneflower/ stated extract of Oyster cap fungus containing beta-glucane is up to 200 times more efficient than above mentioned preparations.
The most effective beta-glucane is beta1, 3-D glucane which is contained also in products of our company.
2. Who should use food supplements?
Food supplements should use people, who don’t consume sufficiency amount of fruit and vegetable; I flatter myself is most of us. Recommended amount is ca 5 daily doses /500 g/ what is amount for gain essential level of agents necessary for prevention. Usage of supplements helps to healthy person who can’t eat well-balanced diet every day to fill up „cracks“ in alimentation. However there are other reasons too. Some herbalists assume continuous action of harmful pollutants of ambient environment (emissions, industrial chemicals, etc.) can be harmful for tissue cells and can drain important nutritional agents from body.
3. What amount of folic acid is necessary to consume in the time of gravidity?
Folic acid fosters the development of autonomic nervous system of fetus, it is prevention of evolutionary defects of brain and spinal cord and it is contained especially in broccoli, spinach or cabbage. Specialists recommend increased intake of folic acid as early as 3 months before conception. Standard recommended dose is 200 micrograms, therefore pregnant women should use 400 micrograms.
